Update 2/21/08
Dear Beloved,
Well, I made it out of the hospital but not out of Houston. Last week they allowed me to leave the hospital but to stay here for follow up visits. While in the hospital they installed a Denver Catheter to help me be able to drain off excess fluid build up in my lungs. There were many other things that happened while I was there but this seems to be the most advantageous procedure done on me for my health thus far. Hopefully, it will keep me from getting pneumonia again and help the antibiotics combat the infection in my lungs. I will be here till next week when I get my second round of treatment and will return to Yukon, Lord willing on Friday the 28th of February.
Thank you for your many prayers, cards, and support which has been overwhelming at times. I long to be home again and look forward to that day. I look forward to being with you all again. God bless!
God loves you and I do too!
Kevin

Update: 12/19/07
As of December 19, 2007 Brother Kevin is back in M.D. Anderson located in
Houston.
The latest report we received is that his liver is looking better though his
lungs look the same. He is still running a fever (around 102 degrees) The
doctors say he does have pneumonia again and they are planning on doing a
Bronchoskopie tomorrow.
Please continue to keep Brother Kevin and his family in your prayers. Also pray
for the Doctors at M.D. Anderson. That they would be given special wisdom,
knowledge and skills, as they continue to treat our beloved brother.
Let us hold on to Ephesians 6:18 and make is our daily goal in our prayers for
our Pastor.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of
prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Grace and Love,
Nick

White Count Down But We Are Not Out!
After my seventh round of chemo now my white count is down below the normal range that it should be. So, I am trying to take it easy and limit my appointments to where I absolutely have to be. I can go but need to wear a mask when in close proximity to others in public. Last week I struggled with some fluids in my lungs, on Monday of this week my pulmonologist provided me with a compressor nebulizer and the medicine enough for a month. So with that I can give myself breathing treatments twice a day. Praise the Lord. I noticed a difference the next day. I was able to extract quite a bit of fluid and have been doing better ever since. Last week also my local oncologist wanted me to see a kidney specialist because there was some concern about my creatinine levels, just as a precaution. Well, when I sent my tests on to Houston, my doctor there said just drink more water and you will be ok. I'm going to go on and see the kidney specialist next week here so my oncologist here will be satisfied. It is a wonderful thing to have two oncologist. One who is leading the way @MD Anderson and another who will see me on a weekly basis and check me out and give me the prescribed treatment that MD Anderson prescribes. Both are truly a blessing and I am so thankful for both of them.
God bless you
Kevin

Tumors Shown To Be Shrinking
I sat yesterday in the doctors office at MD Anderson when I was told there was some significant changes in the tumors in my lungs and liver. They were decreasing! I guess the news still hasn't sunk in with me yet as to say it's one day at a time and I'm so thankful for our Lords gracious hand in this and your persistent prayers on our behalf. I know that last month, when they told me there was about a thirty percent chance that this protocol would work I was concerned. However, I know in scripture that seventy percent of those who are prayed for by another, their prayers are answered positively. I like the thirty percent and the seventy percent with God and you. Thank you so much. I live everyday thanking God for you and for your faithfulness and look forward to many more days in His service and yours.
My father and I packed up this morning from Houston, and got home in time for me to get to my local oncologist here in Oklahoma City by noon. I will start back with the same treatments here as last month tomorrow morning @9:45am. There are side effects, but let me tell you how much easier it was to go today to get scheduled for two more rounds than it has been in the past. I thank the Lord and you again for this undeserved gift of hope.
See you Sunday!
God's blessings,
Kevin

At Canadian Valley we are all about celebrating the faith and friendship we have in Christ. Do you know Him? If you do not know Christ Jesus and have not entered in on the celebration. Then just click on the link immediately below this paragraph. It has been specifically designed just for you to meet a God who loves you and who is waiting to get to know you. Before you go any farther take a moment and get to know the Christ.
Our mission contains two basic emphasis:
(a.) to know Christ Jesus, it is our desire that as a result of our ministry at CVBC that believers come to a deeper more fuller relationship with our Lord Jesus.
(b.) to make Christ Jesus known, it is our task to share with our community, city, state, and ultimately world with the good news of God's grace through the power of God's Holy Spirit.
Our Message is always the same, as John the Apostle wrote in the beginning of his gospel, " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." In the fourteenth verse of the same chapter he writes, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." The irony of Christianity, is that our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ left the portals of glory, to walk the dusty roads of the Middle East, to inevitably suffer a cruel death on the cross, to finally be buried in a borrowed tomb, and gloriously rose again on the third day according to the Holy Scriptures all for the redemption of sinners such as you and I!
Christ is our Lord and Savior. His Word, the Bible is our truth. God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit is our guide unto that truth. The local church is our fellowship. We believe in and hold to the Baptist Faith and Message. For detailed information on this click on Our Faith page above.
